Does anyone love this book as much as I do?
Sadly, I've only made a few recipes from it, but each one has been stellar. (Green Goddess Dressing (a staple), Spinach Mushroom Sauce (so good!), Eternal Bliss Balls (blissful, as promised), Banana Chocolate Custard (wow. seriously)
I'm wanting to participate in a vegan and or raw recipe contest (it's really just a way to pool a bunch of tasty recipes together for a book that will become a source of fundraising for a community member battling cancer).
I can't decide what to make, but I'm suddenly drooling over the beautiful images and creations in this cookbook and abandoning my original idea of 'healthying up' some of my tried and true recipes.
I don't normally do many raw things, but am all for expanding my arsenal of yumminess. It doesn't have to be a raw recipe, but the more 'whole' and less 'processed' the foods, the better!
these are the recipes I'm currently vacillating between...
Carpe Diem Carrot Almond Pate Nori Rolls (with Pine Nut Cheez and maybe the Ammachi Aloha Pate in the place of the one called for)
Cali's Cauliflower Bisque (Cauliflower and Cashews....Mmmmm)
Shanti Gabriel's Live Fettuccini Alfreda
Aiyah's Garden Living Corn Chowder
Star Lotus Persimmon Parfaits (and maybe layered with a different fruit parfait?)
SO many amazing sounding recipes. Anyone have any experience with the ones I've mentioned? I kinda hate going with something I've never made before, but I really think this book is just full of winners!

I'm happy to read this thread as I have this book, but the recipes always look too overwhelming and time consuming to me, so I pass it over frequently. The couple things I have tried were good though....I did the dehydrated crackers and they were AMAZING!! Especially great with avocado!

I'm intrigued now. This was one of the first vegan cookbooks that I bought (because I had eaten at the restaurant in Hawaii before going vegan). I've never made anything from it, but I definitely will have to give it a repeat look now.

I have had this book for several years now and I have hardly made anything. I don't know why because everything sounds really good. I have made the maple ginger seitan and the mint chocolate chip cookies and those were excellent. I should really give this book more attention.

I have made some decent recipes from this book, but one thing I don't like is that many of the photos don't reflect the actual recipes (they add a lot of additional ingredients and garnishes for the photos), and some have turned out NOTHING like the photo, the Green Banana Omelettes most especially (I consider myself a pretty decent cook, and these fell apart completely and made me sad sad sad). Some of the computer-made images scare me.
But I like a lot of the ideas in the book.

I own this cookbook, and have made a few recipes from it. I loved everything I made, but I'm with veganbaby--a lot of the recipes (at least, the ones I think look the best) are just too involved to make or involve ingredients I don't have on hand.
This was one of my first vegan cookbooks, though, so it will always hold a place in my heart. And it's so gorgeous!

I don't cook from this book very often, but the sundried tomato pate with crusty bread is maybe my favorite appetizer ever.
