Ditto. It was what the Salon article reported, just rehashed in different language.

I tried reading all of the comments about the issue, but gave up. They just kept going on and on.

Hey that's cool, I believe in a right to decide what brands of food to buy, too. And yesterday, I was about to pick up a box of Eden when I needed some shelf-stable soy milk, and then I bought a different brand instead.

i'm sure he will applaud your actions as a discerning consumer.

he doesn't understand that wages and health insurance are both benefits that ultimately source from the company's bank account and are up to the employee to use as they wish. (since it's no-longer the employer's money or health insurance once it changes hands)

kind of OT but some of those Facebook comments are..unusual.

Quote:
I have been trying for years to get pregnant due to thyroid trouble caused by exposures in my environment & past generational (I've forgiven u grandma!) food choices that were pushed on my ancestors by corporate greed in the food companies! (White bread, white sugar, soil depletion & iodized salt to mention a few)

Perhaps real health issues such as that of GMO soy products which eden sells, should be of greater concern. Priorities!!!

I assume the anti-soy ones are just Weston A. Pricers with nothing better to do. (But I repeat myself.)

They might get Tea Partiers to support them, but here's the problem: Tea Partiers don't eat aduki beans and umeboshi paste.

I wrote them a longer version of that sentiment.

"Hey, friendly business tip, don't adopt a corporate policy that offends the dominant demographic among your customers".

I don't see Sarah Palin going to Whole Foods to buy organic imported Japanese staples.

It's ok. I've figured out that we just need to eat white bread as birth control anyway. Who needs their adzuki beans OR their paid birth control?

I agree that he is only rehashing Eden's position . I don't agree with your use of "mansplaining" or him saying that being a woman is a lifestyle choice. The letter states that Eden also does not support paying for viagra or other impotency medications.

Not getting pregnant=/=not being able to get a boner.

Is it just me or does the CEO of Eden Foods look like "The Governor" from "The Walking Dead"?

It really doesn't seem like he understands at all what the health insurance overhaul really requires him (and others) to do. It doesn't sound like he got any real legal advice before filing this suit. He just jumped on board based on some vague gut reaction.

Yeah, especially since his reason for doing it is because birth control doesn't feel right - he won't actually site religious beliefs as the backbone of his argument. Weird.

I've been a big fan of Eden foods for a long time ~ among the top reasons for me are
Eden is a Michigan Company & I love their shoyu & soy/rice milk & macrobiotic foods

Has there been any negative talk about the company from employees? I'd be interested to hear their views

I wish the CEO would just maintain his focus of the purity of food, & not the purity of his employees~ but I'm still
going to be a customer.

Is Eden foods paying people to post on message boards for damage control now?

I want to know if I don't have sex, but have an IUD, if I still have .8 abortions.

i recognize the username, i think this is legit. (i've been interacting with someone with this exact same username over on livejournal since 2006, so unless there's an eden rep that either ganked nepenthes' username from elsewhere, or nepenthes is a shill, then i think it's a legit personal opinion. nothing wrong with a different opinion from a long-time vegan joining in.)
