Although the idea of giving up wheat is hard to contemplate, I'm considering trying out a gluten free diet for a few weeks. I wondered if anyone here could recommend a good gluten free and vegan cookbook.

I see the following listed on Amazon:

The Gluten-Free Vegan: 150 Delicious Gluten-Free, Animal-Free Recipes by Susan O'Brien

Great Gluten-Free Vegan Eats by Allyson Kramer

Gluten-Free Vegan Comfort Food by by Lara Ferroni and Susan O'Brien

Welcoming Kitchen: 200 Delicious Allergen- & Gluten-Free Vegan Recipes by Kim Lutz and Megan Hart MS RD

The 100 Best Gluten-Free Recipes for Your Vegan Kitchen by Kelly E. Keough

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Gluten-Free Vegan Cooking by M.S., R.D., C.P.T., Julieanna Hever and Beverly Lynn Bennett

Has anyone tried any of these, and if so, what did you think of them? I would prefer a cookbook that has relatively quick recipes I can make on weeknights. Feel welcome to suggest a cookbook that fits the bill but isn't on this list, as well.

I love Allyson Kramer's book and blog, manifestvegan.com. The book is a good mix of relatively quick and basic recipes (like basic brown bread, bisquick mix), and more involved things. Her sweet recipes are great too (blueberry donuts, butter pecan sticky rolls, chocolate chipotle cake!) and she even has a recipe for bagels which I thought would be really hard to make GF.
She has a new book coming out soon, I think (Great Gluten-Free Vegan Eats From Around the World). I will definitely be buying it!

I have Gluten Free Vegan, and it's not that great. The recipes are mostly "duh" moments for me. We make the Pad Thai every now and then, but that's about it. I don't have any of the others though.

Thanks everyone. I'm leaning toward Allyson Kramer's book at the moment, but would love to hear more input.

I have gluten free vegan comfort food and I think it's pretty great! Since it's comfort food, a lot of it is pretty heavy or oily, but for the most part, I really like it.

I have The Welcoming Kitchen -- I really don't like it at all. The recipes are really basic and bland.
