My friend asked if Cap'n Crunch is vegan? I thought it would contain D3 but it looks like it does not. The only list I find it on is PETA's list - and I do not trust that. Help me help him out! :)

For his health, you would help the most by telling him it isn't and he shouldn't eat it; however, I really have no idea.

Can you check the ingredients yourself online? If it says it contains vit d it's most likely D3.

Looks pretty vegan to me. Only has B1 and B6 for vitamins : https://www.capncrunch.com/default.aspx ... s=original
But, if sugar is an issue for your friend then I dunno...

It's pretty cool that it doesn't have high fructose corn syrup

It's called for in one of the recipes in Hearty Vegan Meals, and the stuff I bought in November (the cinnamon bun flavour, which is the best cereal ever) looked vegan to me.

I might have to try the cinnamon bun flavor. That sounds like a bowl of sugary happiness.

I've been under the impression that it is. I love it and all of it's roof-of-mouth-shredding-goodness.

Haha! Yeah, knowing some of my favorite junky snacks were vegan made my transition a lot smoother.

Which recipe? I'm just curious but don't have the book. Also, I was unaware of the existence of cinnamon bun Cap'n Crunch before now. . . I must get this!

I always thought it was vegan, too. I got to know the Cap'n pretty well when I was in college. . . my school's dining hall only had, like, four types of cereal, and the non-cereal food was often mediocre.

for the longest time, quaker wasn't using vitamin D at all in any of their stuff. then they came out with a new cereal, and they specifically mention D3 (so at least they're transparent about it)
i think cap'n still is D-free, but i hadn't checked recently.

There's a recipe called The Captain's French Toast. I remember flipping through the book when it came out and being sad that I couldn't make that recipe because we don't have Cap'n Crunch here.

Last time I went to my dentist she asked if I'd been eating cap'n crunch! She totally called it--the roof of my mouth was shredded but I didn't think it was that noticeable.

I want some cap'n crunch now! I always forget to check if cereal is vegan...like I check if there's milk products but not for vitamin D. So I hope peanut butter cap'n crunch is also vegan! I will be super sad if it's not.
