I just had my post-teaching observation review for GED. They observed me teaching a few weeks ago. All they did was say what a great job I'm doing! They didn't have a single thing to say that wasn't 100% glowing and positive, not even a "but you should/could..." just a "keep doing exactly what you are doing."

They said they loved how all my students were fully engaged, obviously happy to be in class, and how I have such a great rapport with them all.

I feel so great after hearing all that.

This is really great to hear!

Had a great show tonight which has ended with us possibly piecing together a tour in October/November, maybe with some dates on the continent. Funding for recording is coming together, we're practiced and are performing well, our new material is the best we've written so far. Exciting times!

We did our Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale today and it was amazing. We raised $1148 for Homeless Animal Lifeline, a rescue that operates out of Southern NJ that was badly hit by Superstorm Sandy. The founder of HAL had just gotten married when Sandy hit, and cancelled her honeymoon to spend it driving around Southern NJ delivering animal supplies to people who had lost everything. She is amazing and vegan, as are many of her volunteers. We are so proud that we got to help such a great organization.

And the food was so good! It was just lovely being out with lots of lovely vegans, enjoying the sunshine and doing a little bit of good <3

I found the gross thing that was making my fridge (AND FREEZER. That's how bad it was, and for some reason I looked for it a million times and couldn't find it.) smell bad! And I threw it away and took out the trash.

Met a 75 year old woman at the playground who is fostering a 3 year old boy born to a drug addicted mother and working super hard at getting the boy reunited with his father, who was tracked down after the mother died a year ago but for various reasons is not prepared to take on caring for his child full time. We talked for like three hours while our kids played with each other. It was kind of humbling.

Also, vegan bake sale! Thanks Tofulish and JENNA for the hard work!

Went for a beautiful hike with my family. My stress level is so high right now, and getting to spend time with people I love, sunlight, no computer, and engaging physical activity... is probably the best possible thing I can be doing for myself.

I think I've made my first totally independently made Welsh sentence, using vocabulary and grammar I've learnt from different sources! Wyt ti'n gallu siarad Cymraeg? Ydw! Jag kan också säga det på svenska. Dom är två språken som jag har börjat lära mig i år.

I'm also, since starting this message, having my first tentative conversation in Welsh, on Facebook! Woo me! I'll be five-o-lingual before the year is out.

Yesterday was just lovely. Bought some delicious vegan treats at the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale at the MSPCA, chatted with b.vicious and bap and their partners (and made of fool of myself over animals and Henry), had a great run, and I ticked some chores off of my list.

granted, I just woke up and am still in bed... but so far, the best part of my day is being still in bed with all 4 pets cuddling me. Snoopy is all curled up against me on the right, Yummers is all stretched out and sleeping on my legs, Stevie is curled up on my left and resting her paw on me, and Dottie's at the end of the bed waiting for the action to start! it's pretty great

It was a loaf of rye bread I made I don't know how long ago. I didn't know bread could even smell that bad! It was just a big old mold ball.

I emptied everything out and scrubbed the fridge, so hopefully any spores are now gone.

Eesh! You shouldn't keep bread in the fridge! It needs air circulation!

Well, I leave them out at first, but things seem to mold so quickly in The South that I usually move bread to the fridge eventually. I don't eat a lot of bread.

Slice it then keep it in the freezer! You can pull it out as needed, and you don't even have to thaw it if you're making toast. Works for me.

Amazing weekend in the woods with my friends -- it was like summer camp for adults, but way more wonderful and ridiculous. Also, sunshine! And woods! (Woods!) And amazing, amazing, amazing Indian food.

I got a major piece of a project that's due in 4 days working AT LAST. I finally have a clear enough view of what's going on that I won't actually just be bull shiitaking my way through the corresponding presentation, and feel like unless I really fork it up, I'm going to do okay.

And I got the last piece of another project that's due (in, you guessed it, 4 days) done. Well, my last piece. My group members need to finish their pieces and we need to integrate and test and write a report and a presentation, but good Lard willin' and the river don't rise, we're going to have something pretty functional to show on Thursday...

Last night: went to see So So Glos and Titus Andronicus with my brothers and a few friends. Then we went and ate cheap falafel and I got like 3 hours of sleep and I'm exhausted but WORTH IT.

I've invented a new form of antidepressant: peach schnapps over chocolate and whiskey coconut ice cream.

The French test i was super worried about turned out to be 1/3 in English. Plus i knew most of the other stuff. This is the first time in a while i've walked out of a French test feeling good.
