I haven't been to a concert in so long! I want to. I get anxious in that kind of crowd though. I need my lover of absolute love* to come; that would be a good way to ease into crowd situations and of course make me the happiest girl in the world.**
*Josh Groban ** bc if I were in the same room as him, I wouldn't let him leave until we were wed.

I went to a ton of shows last year but this year has been pretty sparse. I missed the few I really wanted to go to and there's nothing on the horizon at the moment. philadelphegan wrote: I was thinking about going to Badly Drawn Boy next week, but it's at the Church and I always feel really old and irritated there. I was considering this one as well, but I'm not sure if I care enough to want to brave the crowds.

Awww, I like Josh too Randi!
My hubs wants to go to Wu Tang too and we wanted to see Badly Drawn Boy just because it's playing at the sancutuary. We haven't seen a show in that part of the church yet.
We stopped going to a lot of concerts when LiveNation took over with all of their insane fees!

Much of my show-going this year has been more like Johnny Brendas-going-but-never-actually-going-to-the-show-and-just-hanging-out-at-the-bar. I think this is the longest thread in the Philly Phorum to not mention Blackbird or Grindcore.

Get tix online and stuff" If I weren't busy procrastinating papers...

I heard they dropped the price because people were complaining. Still, not going. It's a Tuesday night. Call me an old lady, but I don't go out on week nights unless it's for a damn good reason!

Call me an old lady, but I don't go out on week nights unless it's for a damn good reason! I feel this way, too, when it's 30 friggin degrees outside. (Okay, it's actually not too bad today, until the wind hits. I live too close to the Schuykill - the wind is always hitting.) Interesting about the complaints, but no surprise, really. Times are hard, and it's the holidays. And maybe with the show being seated, the per-head cost is higher? Whatev. I just got a pair of $10 tickets ($11 with fees) for a Philly Chamber Music Society concert in January, so that's my next show, and then Mogwai. I think I'm on the hook for a Best Coast show soon, too.

Going to see Florence & the Machine in June. And, I may need to buy tickets for Sleigh Bells this week if I have time to walk down to the Troc on my lunch break. I refuse to pay Ticketmaster fees for a cheap show. It just does not make sense!
Anyone else seeing any shows this summer?

Anyone else seeing any shows this summer? Ooh, I'd love to see Florence. Might have to get a ticket for that one. Shows I need to get tickets for asap: Matt Pond/Rocky Votolato at the Church in March, Mountain Goats at the TLA in April. There was something else but I can't remember it now. Hmm.

Awwww, Randi. I'm sorry!
I feel that way about Adele. I was on her site looking for concert dates and they didn't have any for the US listed. And then a week later I found out that she was playing the Electric Factory in May and it was already sold out. Tickets on Stubhub are going for $135.00! Super pissed and sad.

Wow I haven't been to a concert in a while, if $135 is normal! And I love Adele, but she's not exactly a household name. Jeez how much does, like, Rihanna cost? yikes.

Oh no. Adele tickets were only 28 dollars on ticketmaster. But they sold out in hours. That trumped up price was on stubhub and other sites like it.
Im not surprised at the prices for Josh though. Hes in a diff class!
