I made the recipe on the back of the split red lentils bag last night and it was REALLY good. I'm excited! I was excited enough that they have lentils at TJ's now, and the recipe is really good. It's a bit spicy!

This is good to know! I bought a bag cause I have a ton of recipes for them, but now that it's getting warmer I'm not in the mood for stews. The recipe on the bag (lentils, broth, wine, red pepper flakes and black pepper?) seemed like it would be good over some grains with spinach.

I had it with spinach the other day, as well as some roasted brussel sprouts because I had them to use up. I've been bringing it to work and eating it cold, and it works really well! Definitely excited at the salad potential here.

Yay! Things that taste good cold are always appreciated since I don't have a way to heat things up for lunch. Totally making this next week!

I'm pretty sure they had buttermilk or some other crepe in them, unfortunately.

Ugh! I couldn't remember if it was them or the Immaculate Baking company ones that I bought. I'll check those again if I think about it; not sure if that brand is everywhere though. They have cinnamon rolls in a can, too, but the TJ's ones are far superior.

TJs broke my heart by bringing back Speculoos and then taking them away again. I haven't seen them there in a couple months.

bummer, they might be seasonal or TJ's might be having an issue with whoever makes it. i asked once about a different product and they said things go away sometimes while they work on 'perfecting' the product and then it comes back.

My local TJs has the butters but not the biscuit packs. I stocked up a while ago, but we've blasted through my stash. I like using them for crumb crusts. I wouldn't mind so much if vegan grahams were easier to find. Forking honeyfiends, ruining perfectly good graham crackers.

I'm pretty sure I saw specaloos in the Union Square branch today.

I wanted to buy maple leaf cookies and sea salted & sugared almonds (I saw on twitter that Jojo had bought these so they use be vegan!) but the queue was ridiculous so I left. I'm hoping it will be a little less crazy during the week. Is there anything else treat-wise that I should be looking for to bring home and share with my vegan bestie?

I like the dried coconut snacks (both the chips and the chunks). And I also avoid TJs on the weekends unless it's an emergency. It's much mellower during the week.

I love the Just Dried Mango slices. Can't think of anything else at the moment because I haven't been in a while. Sadness.

You can get the maple leaf cookies at duane reade. They're the same! Also, try going to a different tjs for a shorter line. The 72nd st one is usually better. 23rd st is alright during work hours.

Thanks folks, especially ijustdiedinside for the tip about the cookies at Duane Reade and other tj branches - the 72nd St one hadn't come up on my map search.

So the bakery area, where they have the white bags of cookies with the window on the front? 3 Vegan variety have shown up at my location.

Chocolate Chip with walnuts, Oatmeal Raisin and Vegan Trail Mix cookies. Absurdly proud of myself for only buying the chocolate chip ones. So good. I will be trying the Oatmeal Raisin next.

My husband likes those a lot -- I really liked them too but sadly can't eat them anymore. Like vegan Honey Smacks, only not quite as sweet.

Yes, I was trying to remember the cereal's name with the bear!

There seems to be a soy yogurt crisis brewing...WholeSoy is having distribution problems, so we have empty shelves at Whole Foods and at Trader Joe's...actually at TJ's no space at all. :(

So it's not just me? I haven't been able to find it for two weeks.

A co-op here put a note up re: Whole Soy. I believe it was taken from the Whole Soy website.

Oh, right. Lol. Just that they upgraded to a new facility and there was a production lag. http://www.wholesoyco.com/blog/item/upgrading-to-a-new-facility

I don't know if this has been covered here, but I tried searching and didn't see it.

I had the red pepper and eggplant dip tonight. I made the almond feta from Veg Times, but didn't bake it so it was a soft, spreadable cheese. For dinner I had a crusty baguette, the almond cheese, and the eggplant dip. I want to eat that every night for dinner this summer.
