Paula Deen on 'dealing' with vegetarians at Thanksgiving, and other shiitake:

Nine times out of ten when a vegetarian is at the table and brings up 'unsanitary and abusive' conditions at poultry farms, you just tell them to 'shut up'. Oh, and if some vegetarian brings a 'god-awful green bean casserole' you're not obligated to eat it...'Oh goodness no.'

My mother once used a "Paula Deen" recipe for a Christmas appetizer in my pregan days. It involved wrapping Stella Doro breadsticks in bacon and putting them in the oven.

And I'm sure that "god-awful" green bean casserole could be improved upon with an entire stick of butter. You know she has a freezer of the stuff in her basement.

That article is hilarious. I love the irony of her holding a live turkey in the picture.

How do people find her charming? I have more charm in my asparagus than Paula Deen has in her whole body. This interview is terrible.

I think it's a bit unfair to take Paula Deen's comments out of context. Those questions are rather tongue-in-cheek and I know that I'm not eating a nasty casserole. I think that's a Southern thing. My mom's family always wants to know who made what so they steer away from stuff made by bad cooks.

After I read the whole interview this is exactly what I thought, although you never know how the general public will take it. There's always going to be one asparagus out of there who takes her "advice" seriously or thinks this is how veg*ns really act.

I'm conflicted on Paula Deen, she is charming about 3% of the time and the other 97% I wish she would just stop talking.

That article was amazing. Hilarious. Would Ms. Deen starve to death if pigs were just a little bit cuter or if the Disney pig based animated movies were a little more popular?

Pigs are significantly cuter than squirrels. She just doesn't have to look at pigs adorably eating a pecan in her yard.

haha. yeah that was funny and she didn't even really say anything bad about vegetarians. she just said if something looks gross don't eat it, but she'd put it out on the table, so that's cool. she's crazy, but i like her!
