I have a few hours to dawdle around between morning paperwork and going to graduation, so I'm going to the Chanel counter at Saks. The lovely SA said she would do full makeup for me and to bring in things I already have so I can duplicate it without buying anything. (doesn't seem like a good way to earn a commission based living, but she is always such a sweetheart with her time even though I never spend much).

My mom told me to buy myself a new lipgloss since I've had a really hard past two weeks. I think my mom is ridiculous, but if she insists...

I guess the real best thing will being official on summer break, but I'm still raw from some crepe that has happened, especially after finding more details yesterday, so it's going to take me a while to settle. At least now my side has been heard and I know I was stabbed in the back and by who (people who innocently and adamantly told me to find out who started this because it wasn't them. bisques.) I'm ok for next year now, but still feeling raw and overwhelmed and bewildered because I don't treat people like this, ever.

So, yeah. Lipgloss cures a lot of crepe in the short term. I'm just happy to not be feeling like I'm going to throw up for an hour or two. I wish I didn't physically exhibit anxiety and stress so much.

I'm glad you've been able to say your piece and find out more about the whole situation. And also, yay for makeover :)

Oh my gosh, gals! I am blushing! You are both pretty damn awesome too!!! <3

Here is my doodle for you:

Image

I only drew the part where we were having fun, not the part where we got scared, though that would have been fun to draw too!
Musty looked at it and said "That's just how it happened!" :)

That is freaking adorable.

My dog survives his dental and had three extractions. Not that he shouldn't have survived, but I am an excessive worry wart.

I love that doodle so much!!

My best thing is that American Flatbread is going back to Daiya! Maybe it's sad how happy this makes me, but it does truly make me happy. Pizza Thursday is one of my favorite rituals, and I'm glad I'll get to add American Flatbread back into the mix.

This technically happened yesterday, but i forgot to post so i'm posting it now.
I started my job as a summer camp counselor at a cooking school, and it totally rocks. The chef put me in charge of the ovens, which means i get to use my mad baking skills instead of helping kids! Whoo. The kids aren't bad at all though, which i was worried about cos i'm not very good with children. They do, however, look at me awkwardly when i stand by their tables in an attempt to be helpful.

YES! I saw that yesterday and am SO excited! Hopefully this won't be one of those broadway things that is sold out for 100,000 years. I really really really want to see it.

I got a super pretty glossimer called Jalousie. It's a sparkly neon/hot pink. Very summery! And one of the new formulation of lipsticks because they now use synthetic beeswax. I got a deep pink coral color. I felt super pretty wearing them today.

I wanted to post to the makeup thread but Flickr hates me.

It was nice to see the kids walk for graduation, but I felt sad for the ones who didn't graduate, although I shouldn't. No point in my caring more than they do. They all had doable things (with lots of help) that would have saved the situation over the past 2-3 months.

Ha! Stevie's totally like whatevs! As long as she has her little blue ball (previously Snoopy's little blue ball). Dottie barked the whole time and Snoopy just seemed delighted with all the excitement! :) Musty is the one who put Yummers in the tree!

I got a GPA of 4.1 for this quarter! Highest I've ever had (previous best was 3.9)!

I'm going to celebrate by sleeping for a week. I feel like all I've had time for this term was homework and sleep and not so much of the latter.

That is wonderful. It looks like a very joyful climb and it kind of tickles me that you both climbed down together when it got to be too much. I once read something about how fun it is to get scared when you know you can be safe after and it seems like you and Yummers have that down to a science!

my friend Lauren bought me a donut and we went on a bunch of walks. we talked about graphic novels and the concept of happiness and I'm just glad we're friends because I am never ever bored when talking to her.

That's cool!
One of my favorite mantras is "do something that scares you every day"
I try to do it - whether it's a new food, or an unfamiliar emotion, a scary yoga pose, a social experience outside my comfort zone... It has really helped me be less afraid of fear.
At least for little things. A lot of big things still seem scary.

After years of working and saving, my first ever Vitamix arrived today! I've put off buying one even though I had saved the money because I get terrible guilt buying any kind of luxury item, and this is like the mother of luxury items. But my food processor (which I use a LOT for my business) broke last week, and I found a pro 750 for $599 (plus $14 shipping) and just knew it was the right time. The price was only that low the day I ordered it! It went up $50 the next day.

I'm so happy to have it, and excited about green smoothies and soups and hummus and everything else, along with having a really powerful machine to use for my baking rather than struggling with my crappy old Kitchenaid food processor.
