I ended up just stopping for a bagel and coffee.. But in the international United area, there was also a baja fresh express or somesuch I think. I assume you could get something veganish there.. I was a little more annoyed by my VGML not seeming to be vegan (o HAI chunk of paneer!), I think their contractor may be a little confused.

Ah well, wonderful trip to Japan nonetheless.

BUT, it's super easy to get to Santa Monica for RFD (which may have been mentioned upthread). $1 and under an hour each way. beats a dull layover either way :)

Veggie Grill in El Segundo is even closer to LAX. And there's a Native Foods in Culver City.

Real Food Daily is coming to LAX! They will be opening a mini-RFD in Terminal 4.

I just got their newsletter--Apparently it's now in its second week of opening. Wahoo!! I guess we all know where my next flight is going out of...

I have a flight in the spring that goes through LAX! And it's in the terminal with RFD! YES.

Does anyone know if the RFD has opened yet? Flying out of LAX next Monday on return trip, and it would be great to be able to pick up lunch for the flight. I've just discovered that American Airlines only accepts special meal requests on transcontinental flights for first class and business customers. Infuriating!

Yes, it's open. It's expensive, but delicious.

On most domestic airlines the reason they don't accept special meal requests on transcontinental flights any more is that they don't offer meals. United, frustratingly enough, doesn't even take special meal orders for first class flights!

Thanks, Nebraskalaska and annak. I see it's in American Airlines departure terminal, so it should work great for me. I'm so excited to be able to take a trip where I don't have to constantly be strategizing how I am going to get decent meals. Really looking forward to that aspect of California!
