I don't know what to do with my hair! It's all shaggy and two-toned. Here's the story: 1) It's supposed to be a bob, but it's getting a little long because I've been too busy to cut it. I'm really frustrated with cutting it myself, though, because I've been doing it for over two years and every time, it's uneven and needs multiple touch-ups afterward. (Practice doesn't make perfect.) So, I plan on scheduling an appointment at my old salon. I don't know what to ask for. Same old? Something new? 2) I used to henna but I'm getting sick of variations on orange. Right now I'm in a really awkward phase because my hair goes from relatively dull brown on the top to red tinge on the bottom. It's not that big of a deal, but I notice it and it's frustrating. What I'm wondering is if I should Manic Panic the shiitake out of it. Either http://www.manicpanic.com/besthaircolor ... iolet.html or http://www.manicpanic.com/besthaircolor/purplehaze.html because we already own these. OR should I just let it be brown? Here's a recent picture. (I'm the more feminine-looking one.) You can see the red tinge on the right side of my hair.

Mine is hideous. My lovely hairdresser has been encouraging me to grow it, and even though it's beautiful when she does it it needs too much straightening for my liking (though i do like it when it's done.). Anyway, she's had the audacity to go off on maternity leave and left me, and now I don't know what to do. I need to find a hairdresser I trust, without knowing them. My roots are coming through and I'm panicking so much about where to get an appointment that whether to get it cut has become the least of my worries.
I've had it short pretty much forever, mainly because I'm very short, and it felt right. Now it's long on one side and less long on the other, I like tossing my long fringe but it looks kind of flat. I'll try and get some pics if we ever have any daylight.

Your hairdresser didn't listen to what you asked for but sure did a great job! Love it!!

I have an anti-hair color question. I've been letting it go gray and I love it. HOWEVER! I'm wondering if it will harm my chances of getting a new job, should I end up in that situation. A while ago my boss made a comment in front of me to a co-worker: "Do you like my temporary color? Now I look human!" It's been about a year and all the color still isn't out. I'd hate to undo all the waiting with a bottle of color. But I know how important it is to fit an image when you're job hunting. Alls I gotta say is, I LOVE GRAY*! I wonder if you should color it though if you are job hunting... Then once you land a job, let it go gray again? Like how presidential candidates do! I am not wholeheartedly suggesting that because I love gray... But do what you gotta go! :) *I plan on never coloring my hair just so I can (hopefully) be partially gray by my mid thirties (when my mom started coloring her hair to cover the grays). My sisters think I'm weird for that, but whatever.

Just cut my fringe myself and re-purpled it last week. This is a ridiculous picture, but I'm somewhat relieved that I didn't totally fork it up.

I've let mine go grey, and have found out that I have less grey then I thought, and I really like my natural color on me, even though it's dull as dishwater. I'd love to add in some streaks of a funky color like blue or purple, but I'm afraid it'd look too much like a mid-life crisis (AND it's too uncharacteristic of me). Same for piercing my nose. I'm way too worried about what other people think.
