I need ideas! My 6yo and 4yo have said that they want to be vegan too (they had been eating some dairy, mainly in sweets, my partner is veggie). I don't really eat sweets and a list would be HUGELY helpful if anyone knows of any?

Goody Good Stuff gummies are natural, from an ethical company and most of the varieties are vegan. They're available in Holland and Barrett and some supermarkets. Really good stuff too. Biona do a whole range as well - again, health food shops. Or both are available from Amazon :) My favourites are the goody good stuff strawberry creams. So yummy!

Several of the Co-op homebrand sweets are labelled vegan. Also, if you have an muslim-run store or Asian supermarket, you can usually get gelatin-free gummi bears and things like that.

Some of the Biona ones have beeswax but not all of them (or is it goody good stuff that do, or both???) so just watch out for that but they don't have gelatine.

Sometimes Holland & Barratt will have vegan gummies.

Some of the £1 kids sweets are vegan in Sainsbury's etc, things like laces and fizzy laces. Unfortunately the strawberry pencils aren't anymore :( Also American hard gums are usually vegan and things like sherbet lemons / hard sweets.

Also if you can find bags of ruffles (poundland often have them) they're vegan. And someone already mentioned jelly tots and starbursts. I think maybe tooty frooties too, if they still make those but I don't remember seeing them for a while. Plus sherbet dib dabs, sherbet fountains, parma violets, lovehearts, vimto chewy sweets, cherry drops.

ooh ooh flying saucers, always vegan as far as I know.

If you have an American shop near you (or sometimes an American aisle in Tesco like we have) you might be able to find twizzlers, Swedish fish and sour patch kids (uk sour patch kids aren't vegan though).

ok I guess I like sweets more than I thought.

^ some goody good stuff sweets aren't vegan but they are usually pretty clearly labelled. Pretty sure some of the co-op laces etc are vegan but I've not had any in a very long time so I can't be sure!

you go to Asian supermarkets do watch out because some just use fish gelatine instead which it's no help!

Oh no! I didn't know some of goody goody stuff aren't vegan! What's the betting I've only bought the non-vegan ones. Luckily most of the time I am too stingy to buy them and go for the jelly tots or starburst instead. I can't leave a sweet in a packet once I have them so I am best off with just a small pack!

I've only seen the bigger packets here. No point in me ordering small packets online because I will still eat them all in one go!

daisychain, be careful not to get in my way!

Since I read this a few days ago I have been buying packets of Starburst
every day to take into work to sugar snack on. I do not like the orange
flavour so put them into a dish on my desk for others to eat.

For some reason I thought they were all vegan too. Luckily I never eat them as I don't really like those sort of sweets but I get them for my o/h and would have happily offered them to others.

Aren't polos (fruit, ordinary and spearmint) vegan too?

H&B sell dairy free fudge.

Asda have own-brand chocolate bars for 50p each in the Free From section. Milk chocolate style and chocolate orange. I am now addicted.
Also large branches of Asda and Sainsbury's have dairy free fudge.
Softmints.
Murray Mints.
Can't remember the brand, is it Darrell Lea? soft eating liquorice. Bags of liquorice chunks. Also they do the same thing in strawberry flavour, which doesn't taste of liquorice at all, it tastes of yummy strawberry gummy sweets. In the pound shop sometimes, also supermarkets I think.

I've had these before but they weren't as nice as i remember bonbons being. I think of bonbons as having that sort of powdery outer layer and then really chewy but these were a lot harder. Still tasty though but not as good.

They are not Vegan, they contain Carminic Acid which is from crushed insects: http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/ ... =272122572

Nestle have a vegan list here which also confirms this: http://www.nestle.co.uk/asset-library/d ... 20list.pdf

Has anyone seen a generic/knockoff version of starburst around that are veg friendly? Long shot I know, but PPKers are a knowledgeable bunch :)

That I haven't seen! I just buy them when the share bags are discounted in Tesco. Although, sometimes lidl have them for €1.49.

Might keep an eye out!
I'm bummed that so many veg sweeties are made by Nestle. Other companies need to get in line!
