What's your favorite marinade recipe for BBQing veggie kaybobs or tofu/tempeh? I usually forget to marinate them or throw together a mish mash of ingredients that ends up being disappointing, so next time I want to be prepared!

My favourite tofu marinade is 3-4 tbsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp lime juice, 1 tbsp each brown sugar and garlic chilli paste and more crushed garlic. I then thin it out with water, otherwise it's SUPER salty. But so good. I've never tried it with veggies though.

I've marinated tofu in strong no-chicken broth before when I was planning to bread it, so that it would seem more like chicken strips. It actually worked surprisingly well. Maybe that or a no-beef broth would be good, then slather it with BBQ sauce?

Mmmm. Now I want BBQ.

Indonesian satay, Jamaican jerk, Tandoori spices with coconut yogurt, and chimichurri (with both parsley and cilantro, unless I'm cooking for cilantro-haters) are probably my all-time favourites. Maple-mustard sauce ain't too bad, either.

Are you looking for *barbecue" BBQ marinades or just a good marinade you can use for the grill? Because my fave (non-bbq) marinade I use for tofu, then throw it on the grill. It's by Miyoko Schinner and has red wine, tomato paste, etc. You marinate for a couple of days. It's addictive-ly good.

I used za'atar, lemon pepper, salt, lemon juice, red wine vinegar, lemon infused olive oil, and regular olive oil yesterday for veggie kabobs (mushrooms, peppers, and onions). It was really tasty!

For kebabs -- olive oil, red wine vinegar, splash of balsamic vinegar, Italian seasoning, salt & pepper. Most marinades are too intense for me, so this is simple enough to let the flavor of the veggies shine through.

For tofu I like a little soy sauce, sesame oil, red chili flakes, rice vinegar, and some kind of citrus juice -- orange is my favorite!
