My hometown was a small wasteland in the desert (yes, there are deserts in Canada!) so I went to a lot of (crappy) punk-rock shows but Our Lady Peace was my first stadium show. Oh man, I was so excited/obsessed/thrilled and I wonder what my 15 or 16-year old self was thinking.

Belly jealousy. I never saw my BFF Tanya in Belly :-(

The first real concert I went to was Laurie Anderson but I had no idea who she was. The art teacher took a bunch of us artsy fartsy kids.

My first concert of my chosing was REM in 95. I was completely obsessed with them in high school and early college. I've seen them a bunch of times though the artist I've seen most is either Juliana Hatfield or Kristin Hershey in their many & various incarnations

My first show was going to be Iron Maiden, but I was grounded. Then it was going to be Depeche Mode, but I was grounded. Then it was going to be Morrissey, but it got rained out. So my first show ended up being Jawbox and Fugazi in 1991. This one:

Me too, in 1990. It was my 11th birthday gift and I was THRILLED. Went with my mom and sister and we still have inside jokes about it.

Ministry supported by Jesus Lizard in 1996. The "Sphinctour." Also my first foray into crowd surfing!

I think mine was going to hear / see The Who ... their 'last' tour in 1983.

Manic Street Preachers at the Hemel Hempstead Pavillion. Unfortunately I didn't really know any of their stuff at the time and just went because everyone had been raving about Neds Atomic Dustbin who played there the month before. First gig I actually enjoyed was Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine.

Nor should there be! We were listening to Ooh, Stick You! in the car on holiday last week. I can still remember all the words. (Why are you saying ping pong?). Hehe.

First gig I remember I travelled outside of my hometown for: NOFX when I was 15 I think.

It was either Korn with G/Z/R at the Birch Hill, or Pantera/Clutch/Neurosis at Roseland, both in 1994. I don't really remember which one was first, I think it must have been the Roseland show because the Birchhill was a bisque to get to, and I wanted to see Geezer, not Korn.
But the Pantera / Clutch / Neurosis show was awesome!

Lilith Fair, 1997.

*crickets*

in my defense, i had no friends and strict/overprotective parents, so i was restricted to whatever i could get them to take me to. and it was pretty cool that i was able to see Fiona Apple so early in her career.

my first gig that wasn't a package tour was Jamiroquai at Madison Square Garden in NYC later that year. i won tickets from a radio call-in contest and my dad was nice enough to accompany me. that was a fun show - there was this whole ridiculous parade of rap artists opening including Q-Tip and Busta Rhymes. that may have also been when i first learned what weed smelled like.

The first show I ever attended was with one of my parents, and I don't even remember it. I was 2 years old when my dad brought me along to a Joan Jett and the Blackhearts show. The first show I remember attending was also with my dad, and it was the Beastie Boys. The first show I ever attended without a parent was to see The Dwarves with my friends when I was 13 (nothing like seeing an old dude's penis flopping around on stage when you're still a youngin').
