Sorry if this has already been posted, but I just saw it for the first time today.

Excited dairy cows enjoying grass under their feet. Most if not all have their tails still too.

It makes me sad that they're dairy cows, but oh my, are they ever cute when they see the open field!

Yeah, it makes me sad too. I'm glad they had one bit of joy in their lives. I worry videos like this might make people believe the cows live a happy life all the time though- as vegans we know better. Maybe I shouldn't have posted it, my judgement is not always the best. Mods please delete if this is inappropriate.

I thought it was super cute! Yes, sad that they spend all winter in a a barn, and stupid that the guy is like "wow they are so happy. But i don't care enough to make them happy all the time." But it is so nice to know that they spend part of their lives skipping around the way happy cows should.

I don't think it needs to be deleted. It's nice to see animals being happy and cute. Besides, I don't think anyone on this board is going to get the wrong impression of how cows are treated. I also this video could help people (non ppkers, of course) see that cows have feelings and are more than just dumb animals waiting to be milked or killed. It makes me sad to think about their lives, but happy to see them romping and roaming.

There's a very similar video like this somewhere around the internet of happy rescued cows going outside for the first time...but I can't find it. Anyone know what I'm talking about? I just saw it last week.

Yes! It was awesome! My dude showed it to me so I'll see if he has a link.

He writes that the cows are in the barn all winter and get out only in spring. Understandable from his Point of view... it's harder to feed cows in winter when they are outside.

Somebody here was astonished they still had their tails? Is that a thing? As far as I know, cows in Germany get to keep theirs...

and yes, it looks cute, how they jump around!

Sweet girls. It's happy/sad. Happy to see that they're enjoying themselves for a chance, but sad to realize that we think we have the right to withhold that joy from them 99% of the time. Glad these gals got some fresh air.

Howard Lyman ( I saw him speak years ago) told us that dairy cows will often poop on their tails, when the farmer comes around to give them an injection in the backside, they will often swat him/her in the face with poopy tail - so their tails are cut off- horrible. I'm guessing the farmer in the video is an organic one = cows with tails

me too.

My reaction was the same as PaprikaPaypaya's, I cried at the bitter sweetness of the moment. Sad for their lives, grateful for their moment of joy, and delighted to see these girls do their little pony jumps to express glee.

Cows are awesome!

It's so lovely to see them happy. I grew up in a dairy farming community where the cows are indoors or outdoors depending on the seasons but never saw any frolicking like this before.

I've never heard of cutting cows' tails off either. Could it be one of those things that aren't done in the EU? Letting the cows out in spring is quite a big deal here in Sweden, some farms attract large audiences for it.
