LP, the two piggies you posted with BabyPunk look so freakishly like our two original guinea pigs. It made me tear up a little.

But BP is super adorbs and so are your pigs.

I was coming to post an awesome picture of the Emperor but someone already posted another one of him, dammit.

Whoa. Is that a tiny baby or a giant piggum?

Both I guess?? This seems to be the consensus on Facebook that that pic makes BP look tiny and Pixie look ginormous. She is my biggest pig but she's only about two & a half lbs. BP is 11 lbs but pretty long so maybe that's why she looks smaller?

Actually the truth is I'm breeding a monster guinea pig army to take over the world

Oh, maybe so, yeah. I love her expression, too. And is she wearing a guinea pig shirt? Because that is awesome on pretty much every level.

Miraculously, no batter was spilled in the making of those cupcakes. She actually did very very well putting the silicone liners into the pan by herself, I was surprised! It's so amazing to see them be able to do actual useful helpful things!!

@Ariann, do you know the source of the charts your doctor uses? We've just been discussing this on our local LLL group page as there's a big deal in the news here lately about how the UK should abandon the WHO charts in favor of ones that are more inline with formula feeding.

I noticed the red booklet they gave Vax (do they do 'red books' in England or is that a Scottish thing?) only had one growth chart this time. R & B's books both had BF and formula charts.

Asked the nurse at our well visit this morning what the source of their charts was and was told they were from Nestle. I almost fell off my chair. And I couldn't stop myself from saying, wow, that's horrible.

wait WAT!!!??!??!?! NESTLE???

well how is Malka doing growing into a chocolate chip????

im totally calling BS on these stupid charts.
everytime we go to thte cardiologist we get a copy of a letter he sent to the pedi in the mail. its mainly big words i dont understand but there's always a bit about her weight and height and according to HIS charts she is 8% for weight and 5% for height.
i kind of wonder if he got that backwards because that's the first time her weight has been higher than her height.

but basically shes gotten 4 different sets of percentiles from 4 different charts.
it's so stupid.
luckily for us our 2 main docs (pedi and cardio) dont seem to care too much about the percentile and both say she is following her curve perfectly but ive heard of doctors giving people a really hard time because of what these stupid charts say.

seems like there should be some sort of consistancy in pedis. i can understand using different ones for bfing and formula feeding but other than that DAMN!

CC, they do have "red books" here. I will have to look again, but I'm pretty sure there's just one chart. I've used the online one here: http://www.rcpch.ac.uk/child-health/res ... s/uk-who-0, but it's not so helpful as she's off the chart most of the time. We just measured her yesterday, as she was asking..there are marks on the wall. Maybe a hair under 37"/94 cm, and just over 36 lbs.) We took a pic today for her monthday (22months), but I haven't fetched them from the camera yet.

Footie, his room looks like my 13 year olds room. Her bookshelf is full, her floor is full, her closet is full.
He is starting to look like a teenager.

Ha! Yeah, Nestlé is an evil corporation that, in addition to making slave chocolate, also produces infant formula and markets is heavily to mothers in developing countries and convinces them stop breastfeeding because formula is better, even though formula is extremely dangerous when you don't have constant access to clean water and need all the help you can get to build your immune system and lower the risk of infections. Evil.

So anyway, they make formula, so that is probably why they also produce a growth chart. But I am going to write a stern letter to the practice telling them they should stop using that chart, because that is completely messed up.
