I was admittedly playing a lot of Dots during the show last night, but my understanding was that it had all been a part of the plan.

That was my assumption, too. That they had an idea this might happen and had planned for it. It also makes sense for Carrie as a character - that she would put herself on the line to get the bad guy.

An interview with the showrunner said that the Saul and Carrie had been scheming since shortly after the Langley bombings.

Well that's a relief. I didn't like not liking Saul anymore!

Yeah, the end of that episode put the show back in my good books. Saul's behaviour finally made sense, which means he's not a giant crasshole.

I'm still over the Brody family, and frankly, even bringing Brody into it last week didn't really add much. They could write out him and his family and the show wouldn't be any worse (and might even be better). I love me some Damian Lewis, but unless the writers are playing a really long game on this one, they seem to have run out of ideas/reasons for them to exist. That said, last night's episode gives me a bit of hope.

I like Brody and hope he'll get weaved back into the story again soon, but his family HAS TO GO. All of them. They are the worst.

Well, isn't there an obvious tie in to the baddie they're going after and where Brody is currently hiding out? He's in Venezuela, right?

Was the scheme really since the bombing? I got the impression all the stuff with Carrie in the hospital was real and the plan only started after she called her Dad and told him to tell Saul that she would do anything he wanted. That was why she told Saul he should have gotten her out of the hospital. Anyway, that was just my take on it.

My thoughts exactly. I've come to just fast-forwarding through her/all the family scenes.

Last week's reveal of the plan between Carrie & Saul definitely raised my hopes for this show, but next week better be awesome again because all the Dana sadfaces are harshing it. And if they ever kill off Peter Quinn, I don't know if I could handle it. He's my very nicely faced security blanket now.

Omigod agreed. That was so awful! Ughhhh nightmares. And that was like the shittiest end ever - Saul punches him, then credits? COOL. I did like that the previews finally mentioned the mole, with Javelin (I don't know) saying, "Didn't you wonder who moved Brody's car?" or whatever. I hope there is more focus on that.

Also, Dana changed her name! That is so super interesting and I'm totally emotionally involved with what happens to her and her random friend NOT.

I really hope this means we never have to see Dana again. Now they just need to get rid of the rest of the Brody bunch.

I kinda liked Saul punching that guy in the face. He was so chill. I mean, I saw it coming, but it was still good.

I think that the most important point made in this episode is that Saul enjoys PB&Co White Chocolate Wonderful.

I was so excited about that! It was like we lived in the same world, but then someone got killed with a broken bottle and Saul palmed a terrorist in the face.

I'm excited for next week, though.

Where was the peanut butter? I missed it!

The Dana stuff is just totally dragging the show down. I think it's safe to assume that absolutely nobody cares what her last name is. But what the hell, her mother just lets her leave with some random friend and doesn't even ask for the girl's address or phone number? What?

So when they threw him in the water to see if he really wanted to live? That was like right out of Monty Python. This show, man.

Like if he made it out, he's a witch? :)

Seriously, this show. I love how Carrie was allowed in the situation room after nearly ruining a mission the week before. And how Brody was all freaking out in the car and then all of a sudden was ready to RUN past gunfire to the border, not afraid of anything anymore and totally brave/crazy. It all just was not realistic. Mostly the Carrie stuff.

OH and I love how the director of the CIA doesn't have security at his house. NO WAY that would ever happen, even if he's just the 'acting' director. Booolsheeet. And I'm so upset they killed his companion doctor because he was the cutest.

Brody and Dana's relationship is really compelling. I really care what happens there! It's like, the real shiitake, you know?

No but Mandy Patinkin and F. Murray Abraham so I have to keep watching.

So excited for next week! I wasn't sure whether Brody was going to be good or bad until RIGHT at the end.
