Reading the news about Typhoon Haiyan while doing nothing to help the people and animals of the Philippines is making me twitchy, but I just don't have enough brain to plan a fundraiser right now.

What do you all think about a holiday bake sale toward the end of December? That would leave plenty of time to plan and promote without going nuts and it's not like the problem is going to be solved in the next two months (unfortunately). We'll have to come up with a new place to have it since Mooshoes will be having their holiday rush.

i could help out after christmas (any time between december 26 and december 31). well, theoretically i could help on other days, too, but i can guarantee my involvement in that window.

Next Thursday's Vegan Drinks will benefit an animal rescue group on the ground in the Philippines.

Is it the 21st this month? Where are they held now? I've been out of the picture, and sadly there's a 7/11 in place of the last bar where I attended.

Oops, sorry, here's the link for Vegan Drinks: https://www.facebook.com/events/5098218 ... r=upcoming

Thursday, November 21, 2013, 7pm-10pm at Fontana's. We're still soliciting raffle prizes, if anyone has any ideas or hookups.

Unfortunately, I couldn't make it to the Shop Up today. How'd it go?

I'd love to help out with a bakesale/fundraiser. I don't work any weekends between now and new years (yay!). Would Pinebox be a good location? I feel like they would be down with a bakesale except that people don't just happen into a bar during the day like they might at MooShoes. Saturday night bake sale? drunk people would buy lots of baked goods, right?

Pinebox has been really unresponsive to requests like this in the past, unless someone knows someone there?

I don't think the bake sale is going to happen unless everyone here is super into it. I posted about it on Facebook and Twitter too and there hasn't been much interest. Also, I'm working on the Vegan Drinks fundraiser.
