 Post subject: My first 'is this still good?' thread on the new boards!

I made Mucho Margarita cupcakes last Saturday. I had enough margarita icing left over for another batch, but I never got around to making the other batch. The icing has been sitting in a tightly sealed container in the fridge since Saturday. Do you think it would still be good, or should I just bin it?

I can't remember if this contains alcohol, but if it is mostly sugar and alcohol it'll be fine- both are natural preservatives.

YES. I have had cupcake icing in the fridge for weeks that tasted fine/didn't give me or my boyfriend any digestive issues. Sometimes the top dries out a little bit, but it won't hurt you or taste bad.

I'd eat it without thinking twice. We used to spread leftover frosting on graham crackers as treats.

I would DEFINITELY still eat it after a week in the fridge.

Frosting does not, in my experience, go bad very quickly at all. It doesn't seem to go bad any faster than its constituent parts.
