Wow, you guys are the third people who have taken offense to my title.. hmmm.. I certainly don't want to hurt anyones feelings. The reason I have dubbed it Operation Fat asparagus Reduction is because I am in a huge battle with my weight and have recently started eating 4 mini meals of 400 calories each .. so each of these meals is part of my "battle".. I have a somewhat immature sense of humor and it helps me to not take things too seriously. I haven't written too many details about my weight .. but I am about halfway through losing a very large amount of weight. My highest weight was 300 lbs. I am halfway to my goal weight now.. and I'm having to change things up and figure out new ways to get the weight off ( especially now that I'm not on my feet 8 + hours a day ).. so that's why I have titled my December food, Operation Fat asparagus Reduction. ..but. I'd love to move this discussion to the Parlor and continue the discussion if anyone wants ( drama free and respectful of course ).. because it really surprised me that anyone was offended!

Melomeals, I just feel like the term "fat asparagus" is pretty derogatory and could be substituted with something less fat-phobic. For instance, "Operation Healthy Meals" or something more clever, but I think you get the idea.

I'm sorry to hijack the thread, but I have to disagree with you, Melomeals. The term "fat asparagus" is definitely trashing those who indeed have a large bum. I know that sounds silly, but it's word choices like these that strengthen the widespread fear/shaming/disgust with obesity in our society.
I understand you're trying to lose weight and applaud that. So if you want to emphasize that your meals are good for weight loss, so just call them healthy, fat-free, or whatever. However, there's no reason to make what to you may seem a "silly" joke about a fat asparagus that genuinely hurts someone else. Fat asparaguses (asparagi?) have feelings too ;)
