All my Christmas money went to putting gas in the car to visit my mom. No cookbooks for Christmas this year. :(

My vegetarian son gave me The Sexy Vegan cookbook! I have yet to try anything in it, but it is forthcoming.

Some of our family members are late with the holiday gifts this year but about half of them are in. So far I've gotten:

Vegan Without Borders
by Robin Robertson

What did the rest of you get?

With money I received, I ordered "Vegan Chocolate" and "Isa Does It". I want to dance with happiness.

I got VCIYCJ, VPITS and Vegan Brunch from my inlaws. I think it's funny that off my entire (long) amazon wish list, my MIL picked only Isa books.

I received Vegan Pie in the Sky, the Real Food Daily cookbook by Ann Gentry, and Thug Kitchen. So far I've made the golden gravy from the RFD cookbook and it was amazing. Also, I read through Thug Kitchen, which I know is a hot button subject, but I really liked the overall just-do-it/eat-real-food vibe of the book.

My birthday is next month, and I'm hoping for Vegan Tacos!

I love that gravy! They serve it at their restaurants and it is so good.

Wow, that's pretty good going. It's even more impressive that you actually cook a good amount of stuff out of them! Are you running out of shelf space or just decided that's enough to be going on with for a while?

My husband got me a slow-cooker, and I have always ignored slow-cooker recipes, so I bought the Kathy Hester one. I'm excited!

Bit of both really! A lot of the books are piled up on the floor, plus I think 100 is more than enough for now. Next year I'm saving for a house so every penny will count

Oh no... you're not going to stop blogging are you? I love reading your blog & often get cookbooks or make recipes that you have reviewed. I never comment on your blog because you have to sign up to do it, but I really like reading it & I've made some great food because of it!

Thank you for the lovely comments chickpea :-) I'm not ending the blog, still thinking about next year's content. I'm thinking either lots of cheese recipes reviewed or creating fictional food. I'm also thinking of picking my favourite books and cooking every recipe from them without any time constraints (e.g. cook every recipe I like the look of from IDI no matter how long it takes)

I received the Oh She Glows cookbook (the American edition, with the gorgeous carrots on the cover). I'm thinking about buying myself another one, but I can't decide which. I've been wanting The Uncheese Cookbook and The Blooming Platter, as well as Vegan Brunch. Choices, choices...

Have you got American Vegan Kitchen and Vegan Diner? They are both fantastic

I don't have The Blooming Platter but of the other two I prefer Vegan Brunch to The Uncheese Cookbook.

I use Vegan Brunch way more than I ever would have predicted. It's one of my all-time favourites--so many go-tos and I was never even a brunch person!

Yay!! I look forward to reading it! I like the way you do your blog at the moment. Your reviews are great whether you own the book or not. If you own the book it gets you to try (or not try) new recipes & if you don't own the book it gives you a great reason to buy a new cook book!
It would be good to make all the recipes from a book. I've been wondering about trying that too.
What about revisiting your top 12 cookbooks and making some new recipes from each one?

I cant wait to go back and try more amazing food! My brother got the book after I gushed over it in the restaurant and then put it back reluctantly. I think I owe it to him to make that lasagne.

My Christmas haul was Vegan Casseroles, Thug Kitchen, and Vegan Holiday Cooking from Candle Café. I've not heard anything about the last one so I'm looking forward to testing it out. Vegan Casseroles has been highly anticipated by me for months though! I can't wait to dig in.

I think it's between Vegan Brunch and Vegan Diner now. Oh, heck, I'll just get both. ;-)
