yeah, so, words can't really express how wonderful this show is.

Trying to take part in this thread without reading anything. I've been watching this show by myself almost every night for the last while and it sure helps stave off the loneliness. What an awesome new group of friends, I hope they never go away.

I still have two episodes to watch before I'm caught up, but that Halloween episode was even better than last year's for me and I didn't think that was possible!

I finally caught the episodes. I laughed so damn hard at the lost pen episode. "It smells like a Waffle House sink."

The conspiracy theory one was cool. I really want to build a blanket fort now.

I think this show is passing up Big Bang Theory as the funniest show on tv...or it's getting there.

It passed TBBT a while back for me, I always choose to watch Community first <3

OH my god Annie as a Texan is brilliant.

Epidemiology pretty much guaranteed that I will never watch TBBT as it airs ever again.

The TV is unplugged. I must wait until tomorrow!

Ha I love Abed in that situation. And I love how he said this was a dark chapter in their little group's story. Greatness.

Tonight was a very different episode than all previous episodes. That being said, it was still really good and still confirmed my attraction to Annie.

I love Abed being propositioned in the bar. "No thank you." "I really like talking about Farscape."

Troy and Abed at the end. Amazing.

Abed really needs to be my friend, in reals. I understand him! So great. Also I LOVE how this show can do things like have Jeff and Britta make out, but not have it be anything more than just that, no drama like 'ooh now we're going to start a storyline about them as a couple' , like lesser shows would do. It's so much more realistic and great.

Ha yes! Also, Britta: "Crash his car Troy!"

Farscape!!!! that was a weird episode, but...Farscape!!!

I loved this episode sooooo much for that Farscape bit. When the dude was all "Is Scorpius half Scarran half Sabacean?" I was all "WHHHHHHHHHATTTTT!?!?!? OH NO THEY DIDN'T!!!!" And was so into Abed's Farscape convo. <3<3<3

Also, I just liked the episode. It was a nice episode I thought, and kind of what I needed to watch just now (I just watched it).

Yes, he is fantastic. I also loved when he was in the back seat watching Troy and Jeff talk and then he joined in their laughter.

I agree with Nick, it was different from every other episode, I still loved it. Poor Shirley!

Abed's so cute. The drink in the face made me laugh, as did "Why were you doing it in front of me? I'm not a coat rack."

Abed is always my favourite.

This struck me as kind of a sad episode! Like the whole implication that Shirley had/has a drinking problem, and Annie living in a bad part of town in this sad little apartment. And maybe I'm reading too much into this, but that part where Abed says "I'm not a coat rack" was sad to me, too. Like Jeff and Britta take for granted that he's (possibly?) autistic and don't behave in front of him like they would with others. Maybe I'm reading too much into that! It was still a great episode, but a little sad nonetheless.

no, i'm totally 100000% with you, we had the same reactions to the same things. but overall i think that makes it a more complex and real show. because sometimes going out with friends at that age when the only goal/plan is drinking ends up being super depressing! i really liked, also, that troy realized that people who were older than him didn't have their shiitake together any more than he did, which is one of top 10 lessons of your 20s.

This is how I felt. I loved it. It was a real look at how that group's dynamic would play out when you take them out of the study room and into a real world situation.

Well damn, that does make it seem sad! I really just thought they were in that stage when you're drunk and don't care who's watching you make out with someone. Then they decided it was a bad idea and stopped before Troy came back, but not because Troy came back. At least, that's what I'm going with.

i don't think they would have done that in front of anyone else, because anyone other than abed would have been like: "WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?" hence why they were pissed when he told troy.

I thought that episode was spot on - the show has needed to do some serious character development for a while (particularly with their characters of color) and they finally bit the bullet. Also, how great it that

I mostly hate when people portray Texans. Her stories were great and she was adorable, though. But 78148 isn't a Corpus zip code. It's Universal City. Era and I were screaming "That's not Corpus" when she said that. Ha ha.

I thought the episode was mostly sad (how depressing to have to take care of drunken fools on your own birthday), but I found the ending to be really happy. I think it really brought home how much of a family they are. Shirley helping Pierce because he actually asked for help. Troy being nice to Annie. Abed standing up for himself. Mostly, Troy learned a valuable life lesson and grew up a lot in the episode. It left me feeling happy.

And I'm totally frickin' stoked about the claymation episode.

I just watched the entire first season and all the outtakes/special features this weekend for the first time. I still can't believe it took me so long to discover this show. Most likely there will be a second viewing of the entire dvd set sometime soon because I can't get enough of this show!
