Edited posts

I've noticed that nothing gets added to posts to indicate when they have been edited. That might get confusing and potentially people could really fork up a conversation if we can't tell that they went back and edited their posts. Maybe?

I have edited this post - does anyone else see anything saying that I have?

Wait - I just saw a post that DID say it was edited, but the posts I edited didn't say anything. I am confused.

Is it because I don't need to be told that my post was edited, so it doesn't show up just to me? Am I just full of stupid questions today?

If you edit a post fast enough after you make it, it doesn't register as an edit. I think.

I would also like to add that this feature exists so that people who type faster than they think can go back and fix spelling and grammar errors, not to be a dick and make sneaky edits on posts in which you say shitty things.

I certainly need it for the spelling... or is that teh spelling?

I cannot remember if it was phpBB, but I remember there being a messageboard where if you edit before other people have read your post it won't note the edit.

i searched all over my posts and comments to find it, but i can't. is it a browser malfunction on my end?

it should be bottom right near the quote button, right?

ohhhh! i see it now on this post, but when i go and visit my posts that had been made :30+ ago, it's gone!! (that's not good. people should be able to edit their comments and posts. that's what the little "last edited" indication helps with. especially first posts in a topic for list making and organization and whatnot.)

We can now only edit posts within fifteen minutes of posting. There is a 12ish page thread about it, but I can't remember which "room" it is in, otherwise I'd link it for you.
