I had a little Hanukkah get-together on the first night of Hanukkah and I got over the intimidation and made yeast fried donuts covered in cinnamon sugar! They turned out "like real donuts" which was funny to hear my friends say. They really did turn out awesome. The pornage is one regular donut with the hole cut out, and the one to the left didn't have the hole cut out. I also made fried potato onion latkes, a potato kugel casserole for my friends who are mindful of fat intake, homemade apple-pear-ginger sauce, sour cream and chives, caramelized onions, fried mushrooms, cashew "nacho" dressing and also gluten free baked donuts for my gluten free friend!!! I used the veganyumyum donut recipe but subbed the ap flour with brown rice flour + 1 teaspoon xanthum gum, coconut oil instead of eb, arrowroot instead of ener-g and added a pinch of pumpkin pie spice. They turned out excellent!
