The website now says you're supposed to replace the cup every year, but when I bought it it said 10 years. I bought mine 8 years ago and it's fine. I boil it most months, unless my period surprises me, though that doesn't help with discoloration. I have been known to soak it in hydrogen peroxide to make it pretty and white again (which the website also says not to do, so try at your own risk!) though mostly I don't worry about it.

Thanks strawberryrock!

Replace it every year... hahahaha! I'll keep using it until there is a problem with it.

But, I'll go boil it now. And if I find some hydrogen peroxide I'll give that a try, but I don't think we have any and I doubt that I would get around to buying it just to make my diva cup pretty. It's not like many people see it or anything.

I found a specific Diva Cup wash by the same company at the Co-op I bought mine at. I use that every time I change it (assuming I'm home) and I have discoloration but it seems okay...I think I've had mine for 3ish years? (I guess I could just go through my PPK posts, I almost certainly posted when I got it)

I have a luna cup (edit: maybe it's called a moon cup?), I boil it maybe every three months. it was stained immediately after use and ever since.

I've had my diva cup for like...six years, and i've only boiled it twice. I wash it out with tea tree oil soap whenever I take a shower.

I had horrible cramps today, bad enough that I skipped the gym for the first time because of my period in three months. I never got out of my pajamas although I did put on a clean shirt because sitting with my heating pad all day made me sweaty and grossssssss. I look forward to my shower in the morning and feeling like a human again.

So, I hadn't had a period in 17 months. For the first few months, I wasn't too worried because I had just stopped the pill, but after almost a year, my GP got worried and I've been through a bunch of tests and seen specialists and worked pretty hard at finding out what is going on. Anyway, it's back and WHYYYY WHY DID I WANT THIS BACK (yes, health and bla bla), but man I forgot how much this sucks.

It feels like my uterus is trying to escape my body but is going about it by clawing through my abdomen. All will be quiet on the western front and then 2.5 minutes of near agony. Then gone again. So basically my period is really kicking my asparagus.

got mine as i was walking to the bus after work yesterday, so i had to wait an hour until i got home to do anything about it :(. glad i was wearing black pants!
then today the lock on the bathroom door at work is broken, and i was kind of grossed out about changing a tampon in the men's room, so i had to wait till i got home.

so basically everything sucks.

Why are some months so much worse than others?! This week I've had to get into bed at 8 pm nearly every night because I'm exhausted and I sleep all the way through. My joints are super tight and achy and I have the bubble guts. Last month I barely even noticed my period. This month I have a full week of PMS and it hasn't even started yet. :(

I wonder this too. And it seems that every time I have a light, non-crampy period, the next month is HORRIBLE.

Mine just started today. I am exhausted, light-headed, crampy, and cranky and I have to go to a friend's party tonight. I already said I would go, and when I checked the fb event page I saw that very few people have said they are going, so I feel like I can't back out. I would feel so bad if no one showed up after she booked the hall and DJ and everything. So I'll have to suck it up and try to have a good time. But I feel sooo tired and gross. Ugh.

Has anyone here every used incontinence pads/pantaloons for heavy periods? I'm thinking of giving them a go, especially for days when I may not be able to get to a bathroom as quickly as I need to, and am wondering if anyone has any experience with them.

Urgh, I started my day so well. The painkiller I took helped and I managed to start my spring clean but while I was out walking the dog I started cramping bad and I got jelly legs. After lunch I had to give up trying to watch TV, take a painkiller and went to bed for a sleep. When I woke up I was empty retching and feeling too crepe to cook dinner so I got a bag of chips from the takeaway. I'm back in bed now and planning on restarting my netflix account and watching lame movies for the night.

My doctor increased my antidepressant use to help with my PMDD but my hormones didn't get the memo.

I'm on BC and I'm pretty terrible about remembering to take it, but I haven't gotten a period since like late february? I'm not exactly complaining, but in the past when I've missed some months, I ended up with a super monstrous period when it does come. I really don't want that to happen!

I'm going through this right now. I went off the pill in July and still haven't had a a period. I haven't seen a Dr. yet, because I've been afraid of all those tests. Did they find out anything from yours, or is it just a "give it time" situation?

I've been getting cramps and just enough spotting to fork up my underwear for 2 days after I thought my period ended. Grr.

I had a confrontation with my thesis advisor over the weekend and of course I had to get terrible cramps while it happened. Ugh. Also, there was crying. Thanks, hormones!

I was a captive audience in his office and I knew I was bleeding through into my jeans but I couldn't leave to deal with it until our arguing was over. So gross! I'm so glad I didn't leak through onto the chair I was sitting on!!

My period has been lasting longer and longer but with what seems to be the same total amount of blood as always. This time I got it on Monday and still had it the next Monday! It used to be three days and done. I guess it's just because I'm getting old?

Me too. I have had that "my period is about to start" feeling for the last week. At least if it started I would know it'd be over in a week.

My period was supposed to start last friday or saturday. Instead, it started wednesday morning, really heavy. Then medium heavy on thursday, and light on friday. Nothing on saturday, sunday and monday. Tuesday morning: hello again! Pretty heavy (for me). Today I feel terrible. I also feel like crying at pretty much everything!
