I'm cautiously looking forward to the new bagel place on 20th above Spruce St. So far, the only good bagel I have found is at Kibbitz Room on Locust St, and I guess Mugshots does a decent bagel. My local coffeeteria - Good Karma on 22nd - serves South Street Bagels, as does "pretty much everyone in Center City" according to one of the girls who works there.
So... any suggestions for other bagels to try?
And when did the Girard Street Mugshots open?!

One Shot lists two of their new bagel sandwiches as Vegan but I don't know where they are getting them from - I will ask tomorrow. They have an Edamame Hummus w/ Sprouts bagel and a Vegan Almond Butter (Housemade) w/ Caramelized Bananas & Sea Salt. They also have tofu scramble now (also marked capital V for Vegan). They still stock Vegan Treats cookies & whoopie crack pies. I asked if the oatmeal could be prepared with soy milk and they said no, so I think it is made in a big batch, which is a shame, because it sounds delicious and I would order it often. I will ask again, because maybe there is some other reason that could be easily substituted.

Why didn't I move to the side of CC with this?!?! I wonder if the Mugshot Nutella-alternative is vegan. I love the idea of banana, sea-salt, and nutella...

That almond butter, caramelized banana with sea salt looks DIVINE!
I don't necessarily get my bagels from a coffee shop or anything, but Four Worlds bagels are realllyyyy good. Le bus pumpernickel with onion is an awesome bagel. I think my favorite bagel is from Whole Foods South Street (different than the bagels from Callowhill) which is the caraway seeded (this is very important to my EB + nooch) pumpernickel. Holy moly, thats a good bagel. I think they get it from South Street Bagels? One time I got an amaaazing multi grain bagel from Cafe Clave, which the counter lady said she made herself that morning.

I would have sworn those are not the same bagels I get at Good Karma. Go figure. Le Bus - gonna check that out...

Speaking of bagels, I was in south philly yesterday and stopped at green aisle. I picked up 2 jars of Better Butter, that is no joke! I got the nutty chocolate chip and the maple pumpkin, both are ridiculously delicious and worth the $13.50 for both jars. Although, not an everyday type purchase.

Glad to hear you like it! Let me know if you end up trying any neat recipes with it, I'd love to post a photo on the Better Butter Blog.
I really wish Better Butter would do an almond butter variety - I know it can be really expensive to use almonds and they'd have to price it a bit higher but I bet it would be insane.
Imagine a Nutty Chocolate Chip made with Almonds...surreal.

I picked up a jar at the Food & Friends tasting. Delicious. I planned to have some on a salt bagel with banana, but I am at the risk of eating it all before I get to a bagel.

I've been eating so many bagels lately at Grindcore House. Sesame with scallion cream cheese, wheat with maple pumpkin better butter, everything with organic peanut butter. I like 'em well-toasted, almost-burnt, to contrast the soft doughy innards.
