My ballet career is still alive and well with all the tampon-related demi-pliés I've been doing lately.

I have two diva cups--two! I still don't use either of them regularly. I also can't use tampons without an applicator, not because I'm afraid of touching myself, but because they hurt. My vagina is as sensitive as my feelings. Also, there was the time my diva cup splashed open and left a scene so gruesome I could have walked away from everything.

man. i do not miss tampons. i still have issues with my diva cup sometimes (it leaks on the first 2 days! i have to wear a pantaloon liner!), but at least i don't get a yeast infection at the end of every single period. my shiz is sensitive to the maximum. i wish i could change mine in the shower, but if a single drop of water gets up inside my vagina, again, yeast infection.

also, i have to take it out to poop. that's annoying. still, worth it, to avoid all those stupid infections.

ha...hahaha. i play this by myself but it never seemed as funny as you just made it.

i have no intention of ever playing with my menstrual fluid.

Because you are saving it to water your houseplants instead? :P

I feel extra versatile, because sometimes I sit and sometimes I stand when I take out my tampons. I'm not sure why, I'll have to pay attention next period. Also, for light periods I don't use tampons at all, I just use the flannel pads from this etsy shop (ppker, does she have the same name as on the old boards?)

I read almost all of this thread but didn't see any consensus on a name for tampon skid marks. It would be nice if they had a name, at least on the ppk. Pollocks? Rag Art?

Strange. We got a trial pack of applicator tampons at school during a rather odd sex education lesson, and I found they hurt, whereas non-applicator ones didn't.

Why do I demi-pliés to put it in but sit to take it out? I feel like I should be doing the same for both.

Sometimes I leave menstrual flow in the bowl on purpose just so as my family know to leave the chocolate cake the fork alone.

I'm quite certain OB tampons are included in the 99.8%. I know a lot of women who use them because they think they're safe for septic systems. They definitely aren't.
Just because the tampon will go down when you flush, doesn't mean you should flush it!! Ear swabs, dental floss, etc, will also go down, but you should never flush those things.

I've tried putting in tampons while standing, and it is never a success. I mean, I can get it up there, but it has always leaked when I've dont it standing. Sitting all the way!

I've pulled them out while standing only once or twice because I was in a big hurry. for sex

Also, just want to add, while tampons work better for the days I'm wearing pants, for the most part, I like using pads. They are much easier than tampons and cups.

I insert and remove in the famed demi-plié. I'm really baffled by this sitting thing. It reminds me of the wiping thread. Are you sitting sitting or just squatting/hovering? I feel like you must be sitting for the tampon swing to hit the toilet, but then how is there enough room between the toilet and your crotch to even maneuver a hand?

I do a full on sit, I guess I sit far enough back on the toilet so there's enough room for my hand. If you ever read the directions they give you in tampon boxes they say to do it either way. I guess I just picked up sitting on accounta my laziness.

Yeah, I'm going to try the sitting to insert method next time and demi-plié to take out next time. Woah- reverse it all... Or I'll do the mel c method and just demi-plié it all the way.

It totally depends on the applicator for that. Those cardboard ones that they typically have in those bathroom dispensers - I don't even bother, I can't do it. The plastic ones hurt a lot less, and the applicatorless ones are the same amount of hurty for me, dtbk. I think it's friction.

Yeah, I think it's the friction, too. I don't even look at the cardboard ones. With the applicatorless tampons, if I can't get it in the first try, I have to wait and try again with something else because it hurts too much otherwise. This is the same problem I have with the cup. Once I go rooting around in there, I need to leave it alone for a while.

I'm also a fan of plastic applicators, but I never buy them because I figure plastic is worse for the environment. So I stick it out with the cardboard ones. Friction ahoy.

The "red vadge of courage" is what we refer to wayward splotches that get on my pantaloons. It sort of doesn't make sense, but *shrug* my partner and I have our own language I guess.

On a related note, how do you gals insert your cups? I can't do it anything but standing, one leg on the toilet. Don't flush the toilet before standing up or else your housemate/partner may walk in (thinking you're done) and get an eye-full of vagina-insertion.
