Hi Guys, The weight loss room was a trial. We thought we'd give it a shot on the new boards even though it had not been successful on the old boards. It is gone now because there were not many posts in it, and the few that there were had a lot of negativity in them that made us uncomfortable and could have been triggering to some people. In light of that we are not going to have a room to specifically talk about weight loss. We'd love for people to talk about staying healthy in a positive way in the general health forum.

So, does that mean we can talk about things like weight loss, calorie counting, diets such as weight watchers, etc?
I know some people may see those things as not so positive but I think it is a case by case basis. I think we all need to figure out what is right for ourselves.

Oh, that's kind of sad. I noticed one thread just disappeared, and was confused this morning when the whole forum was gone.

Basically, it's cool when people talk about Weight Watchers or healthy weight loss stuff, but it seems that having a whole forum just seems to breed a lot of negativity and stuff that can be triggering. Plus, there are a lot of weight loss sites on the internet, and while we want to provide a vegan friendly space here, this site is primary about vegan food and veganism and stuff, not weight loss. We do what we can, but we can't do it all!

That's okay. between general health and excersize, we should be covered!

It was dead for a while, then I noticed it picking up. Didn't know why, because I wasn't reading. I'm cool with it. It's better not to trigger anyone.

Thanks for the WW points links, joyfulgirl! I wanted to make my friend some food and I was so excited- I told her I had the WW points for the dishes!
Does anyone have points values for VCIYCJ... or is that asking too much?

these are great! i saw that the dates from the PPK WW Points post are from October, and i know that WW changed their points system just a few weeks ago. from what i've seen the points have increased, BUT they give ya more points per day to use so it kinda levels things out a bit.

Yeah, we're going to have to go back and re-enter the points for the pointsplus system. Unless Lavawitch saved them in her recipe builder.
I've been going through Appetite for Reduction and writing the points in the margins, so I don't have to grab my calculator every time I try to figure out what I want to make.

I still have to go through the last chapter but other than that it's done. It's really helpful when I'm planning menus for the week because I can see what things work out okay together for me to form a meal.

i've only been cooking out of AFR lately because i figured out all the points (whatever i'm sticking with the old system it's always worked just fine for me and i dont want to try and learn something new).
i'm so excited to have the vcon and yrr points! though i haven't gotten sick of AFR yet (the dressings have made me re-love salads!)
