Mine does that too! I'll check it and it'll say "47 active minutes" and then when i'm back in the car I check and I watch the bar shrink and change from green to yellow and just say 10 minutes. Like, what. And I lose steps too.

Erg. My FitBit stopped charging. I bought a new charger, because that would have been the easiest fix, but it still won't charge.

I've only had it a month, so I doubt it can be so dirty it won't charge, but I'm going to go buy the stuff from this video about how to clean it at lunch and give it a try. Raaaaar.

Ughg. I meant TRY the stuff from the video...

But I cleaned it and still no dice. I think it's dead. This is not great news, mostly due to my crippling obsession with FitBit.

Bumping this because I just got myself a Fitbit Charge! I really like it, although I am puzzled by a number of things. A lazy day on which I do not leave the house will get me over 2,000 steps - is that typical, or very generous? I do think it tracks my petting the dog as steps.

Also, how do you track calorie expenditure for activities that are very stop-and-go? My main activity is bouldering, meaning I do a bunch of easy routes, try a hard route, fail, whatch someone else do it, try again, succeed, take a break for a bit, do another route, etc. usually for 2 to 3 hours. If I enter that as "rock climbing", the dashboard tells me I spent 2,000+ calories in one session. Sure, it's a good workout, but that number seems a bit excessive. I've never really tracked calories before so this is all new to me.

That sounds about right for a lazy day Aelle! I normally have done 6-7,000 by the time I get home from work and I sit at a desk!

I have the charge hr and I LOVE it. If anyone wants to be fitbit friends add me! :) I'm here https://www.fitbit.com/user/3HF92V

Yeah, a day where I don't leave the house but do normal showering, cooking, cleaning will give me about 3500 steps. I can't help with the bouldering bit, my main exercise is running which is very continuous.

There's a stop watch feature of you hold down the button on the side of the charge. It will track that exercise until you hit stop (it buzzes to confirm). Then you can go on the app and categorize that activity. That's the only way I can think to track intermittent activities.

Baps I will and you a request!

I finally have my misfit working! Bought one (on clearance at Staples for $29! mwuahaha) and it turned out to not be compatible with my android phone or my iphone.... and my daughter's better phone was out for repairs. It just came back yesterday and I got the misfit synched and up and going. it may take me a bit to figure out what it is doing for me and such, but I am excited. I do love the shine, it is so pretty.

Loved my Shine, used the hell out of it during my trip, and wouldn't cha know - it popped out of its thing yesterday and I only noticed after a day of grocery shopping and errands when I was on a skype call. There is supposed to be an app that can help you find lost bluetooth things, and I will try that, but I am not expecting much since it could be ANYWHERE and I hear it is also magnetic.

Aargh there are so many choices! I asked for a fitness tracker for Christmas this year. I like the design of the Jawbone but have heard it is buggy. I had never heard of the Misfit but I like the look of it, especially that necklace to hold it and I like the idea of one I can swim in like the Speedo one. So hard to choose. I'll probably get a Fitbit because I like the scale that syncs with it.

I tried the app and no go. Tomorrow I will take the phone with the app (just to make it more fun, the shine doesn't sync with my phone, so I bought a new phone which hasn't even arrived yet) and try the stores where I was to see if we can find it. but it is definitely not in my house or my car. :-(

I lost my first Misfit and I was so sad, so I feel you, Torque. Of course, I found it again as soon as I bought a new one (which I just mailed off to a friend.)

Bright side, maybe? They are coming out with a new edition Misfit, I think.

Blondie, maybe the UPs have improved. I had one and it had to be sent back three times but the warrantee only counted from when it was originally purchased and the third one died in like a month and they were all sorry-not-sorry so I was completely over UP. I had gotten one for Mr. Sz too and his died an untimely death as well. The new ones may be better, but I’m way over Jawbone.

I wear my Misfit in the shower so I know it can get wet, I don’t remember how submersible it is. Customer service has been pretty great. They randomly sent me two new batteries with a note that my battery (which lasts a super long time) is probably getting low. Which brings me to my next point, I hated having to charge the UP, I love that the Misfit doesn’t need charging. Now, if I could just get my dogs activity meters (Whistle) to be battery instead of charged everything would be sunshine and rainbows (except the landfill, I know I know.)

So we used the bluetooth tracker app yesterday and retraced my steps, and nothing appeared, which made me feel a bit less upset since I know for sure it isn't sitting in the supermarket somewhere.
If I can find the receipt (...) they are willing to give me "something". Of course, I got it on clearance for $30 and there is no chance I can get another one here, so easy come, easy go, right? I would totally buy another one, but I probably would be extra nuts about not losing it.

PS- I did see the new Misfit design and it is pretty!! Maybe next time I head up north!

I have the fitbit charger hr which occasionally has been loosing steps etc, but overall it is working out great. I agree I think the band was made for dudes, because wearing it 24/7 hurts my wrist.

My biggest problem is that most exercise I do and all walking fails to get my heart rate up, so I can walk for 2 hours or do UFC challenge or w/e and my heart rate never hits peak.

This is my fitbit profile bad.
I set everything to public, because I have no idea what I am doing and feedback is cool

I'm getting a Charge HR for Christmas, so in two weeks. I'm buying myself an Aria scale to go with it even though it's expensive because I want to track all that data.

I got my Fitbit and added everyone on this page. Probably should have added I was from PPK on the invites so if you get one from Francesca K that's me.
