This is what it looked like before I attempted to decorate it:  basically perfection. But I didn't have any shortening to make vegan butter cream frosting so I decided to make the chocolate ganache from VCTOTW and then sprinkle powdered sugar over it. I need to work on my cake-decorating skills.

I made a cake like that for one of my sons a few years back. I didn't have a mold, I just baked a square cake and cut it in a skull shape. I used gel food colouring to make the black frosting.
