I don't want to live anywhere where a building from the late 80s is old enough to be considered a landmark.

Let's hope that the Wal-Mart doesn't burn down. That's really the glue that holds the town together. So much history...

I used to live in KY. The correct pronounciation of Versailles when you are referring to the town in Kentucky is VER-SALES. I am not making this shiz up.

Frankfort is actually a really nice place. It's got this weird fictional-place feeling to it. And in the middle there's this huge forested hill. My friend lived on that hill for three months and no one found where he was living unless he showed them. There's also a wrecked barge along the river bank that people have parties on. And that's why Frankfort is cool. But it's also the smallest state capital in the country, so every building is a landmark.

I've lived in Frankfort for a few years, and I *think* he means that businesses generally don't stay in the same location for twenty-something years. I think. Most of the buildings in downtown Frankfort are at least five times as old as the East Side McDonald's, so I'm not exactly sure where he was going with that.

*sigh*
